Oxygen Cylinder

Oxygen Cylinder

Our client has fibrosis of the lungs and requires additional oxygen when she goes out to do her shopping. She had been using large oxygen bottles, which she transported on a steel-framed trolley, but this was getting too heavy for her. She wanted to use smaller bottles but the gas service provider was unable to provide her with a smaller, lightweight trolley.  A simple, lightweight trolley was built that enables the client to get out of the house to do her shopping whenever she wants.  Ref T8-220

Portable IV Pump and Pole

Portable IV Pump and Pole

A lady needs to have intravenous feeding 22 hours a day, which means she needs to take her feed pump and IV stand with her whenever she walks or drives in the car. TADVIC made a portable stand using a four post walking stick with as the base with the handle replaced with a longer piece of aluminium tubing to hold the IV bag and pump. The tubing can removed if the stand needs to be dismantled. T9-271

Ventilator Support

Ventilator Support

A baby boy requires a ventilator at all times. He becomes tangled in the ventilator tubes when he crawls around the floor placing him in an unsafe situation and restricting his mobility. A lightweight harness was made to hold the two ventilator tubes to the child's back, preventing them from pulling on the tracheostomy tube in his throat. A counter-weighted pivoting "fishing pole" was made to support the ventilator machine and to keep the tubes off the floor. The pole leans over and permits the child to move around in a 2.5 metre radius from the ventilator. This solution has given the child the opportunity to play safely and more freely. Ref 97/297
